Best Five New Watches For Autumn

Here’s our choice of great watches to buy for Autumn 2020. The biggest watch fair, Baselworld, may have been cancelled but the master horologers are pulling out all the stops to create inventive, quality luxury watches to attract new buyers and tempt collectors.

This superb diver watch, the Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage is a reinterpretation of the Alpina 10 Super Compressor of 1969. AL-525 automatic movement, rose gold, with cream ring and brown markers. Stylish and sporty.

This is the one to dream of. The Breguet Reference 5395 skeleton watch. A “Classique Grande Complication” open-worked, an extra-thin wristwatch with a tourbillon. A self-winding movement with peripheral oscillating weight. The balance spring and escape wheel are engineered in silicon. Running seconds on the tourbillon shaft, sapphire caseback and water-resistant to 3 bar (30m).
£ 186,300

The Bremont Arrow is a new aviation-inspired 42mm cased mono-pusher chronograph. Bremont is a successful British engineered brand and the first watch brand to sign the UK’s Armed Forces Covenant. This BE-51AE automatic with 48-hour power reserve and water-resistant to 100 metres is a safe bet for a smart event.

Now this classic watch is a steal and worth adding to any collection. The Bulova Men’s Computron. The updated style features a sleek black stainless steel case on a black rubber strap, a red LED display, expanded digital functionality with dual time zone capabilities, and a distinctly retro design that is as relevant today as it was in the 1970s.

Christopher Ward does pretty much everything right, selling watches direct to consumers, thereby lowering prices and putting more of the money into the watch. The new C1 Moonglow is attractive and presents two three-dimensional moons on the dial, coated with Grade X1 GL C1 Super-LumiNova® which emits an otherworldly ‘moonglow’. The in-house moon phase movement also tracks the moon’s orbit accurately for 128 years.
